Valenti Named IU Scholar-Athlete of the Week

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - On a weekly basis, IUHOOSIERS.com will recognize top academic performances by Hoosier student-athletes with the IU Scholar-Athlete of the Week award. For the week ending Sept. 17, freshman field hockey player Alina Valenti earned the honor as selected by IU Athletics' Academic Services.
" I am pleased to see Alina representing IU field hockey in such a positive way," Indiana head field hockey coach Amy Robertson said. "It's great to see a freshman adjusting so well both on the field and in the classroom. I am glad to hear Alina has been very proactive in her schoolwork."
Valenti, a forward from Lehighton, Pa., has seen success in her academic pursuits early in her collegiate career.
"Alina has displayed a good work ethic and ability to be pro-active early on in her student-athlete career," academic advisor Kimya Massey said. "She has put herself in position early on to be very successful here both on and off the field and understands what it takes to be successful."
