BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The No. 24/21 (AP/Coaches) Indiana men's basketball team returns to the friendly confines of Branch McCracken Court at Assembly Hall to take on the No. 18/19 Iowa Hawkeyes on Saturday, Feb. 11, at Noon EST. It will mark the second meeting of the season for the two schools, as Iowa took a 73-60 decision on Jan. 24 in Iowa City, Iowa. Indiana has won 10 of its last 12 contests against ranked opponents at home.
IU is coming off a 72-54 loss at Wisconsin on Feb. 8, in Madison, Wis. The Hoosiers were led by sophomore forward/guard Robert Vaden, who recorded his first career double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds in the losing effort.
Iowa enters the contest a game and a half ahead of Indiana in the Big Ten standings, with a 7-3 league ledger and an 18-6 overall mark. The Hawkeyes are coming off a 51-48 defeat at Northwestern on Feb. 8. Senior forward Greg Brunner led his team with 13 points and 11 rebounds on the night.
The Indiana-Iowa game will be televised nationally on ESPN, with Dave O'Brien (play-by-play), Rick Majerus (color commentary) and Stacey Dales-Schuman (sideline) on the call. Additionally, all of Indiana's games can be heard live on the IU Radio Network. WHCC (105.1 FM in Bloomington) is the flagship station for the network that has more than 50 stations broadcasting Hoosier basketball. Don Fischer (play-by-play), former Indiana guard Todd Leary (color commentary) and Joe Smith (pregame, halftime and postgame host) call all of the action.
