Kullberg Excited About Her Future

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Senior guard Kali Kullberg knows her college basketball career is nearing an end, but she has a bright future ahead of her. A two time All-Academic Big Ten selection, Kullberg has enjoyed her time at Indiana. Whether it be a coaching change, injuries, or classroom work, she has made the most of the opportunities she has had.
Kullberg has only had the opportunity to play under the direction of head coach Sharon Versyp for one season, but she feels the coaching change was one that has benefited both the seniors and the team as a whole.
"We couldn't have asked for anything better," Kullberg said. "The coaches are great, and they have turned this whole team around. It's the same group we had last year, so it's the best thing we could have asked for."
With all of the work that goes into being a student-athlete, Kullberg has definitely done her part in the classroom. She is majoring in both Biology and Psychology, and will be picking up minors in Spanish and Chemistry. All of the work and basketball preparation makes her schedule very busy, but it is something that Kullberg takes in stride and enjoys doing.
"I always like to be busy. Honestly, I don't know it any other way. I don't think it's extremely overwhelming." Kullberg said.
Beyond graduation from Indiana, Kullberg has traveling plans in her future. She hopes to head to Europe and back pack for some time away. When she returns to the United States, her intentions are to go to medical school.
"I decided to go into biology because of a conversation I had with someone," Kullberg said. "They asked if money didn't matter, what would I absolutely love to do? I want to be able to help people hands on. One way I know I can to do that would to become a doctor, whether it be overseas, or anywhere. That would be my dream job, to be somewhere where help is needed."
With all that she has put into being a student-athlete, her future is shaping up very nicely. Kullberg hopes that with her academic and athletic work, these dreams can come true.
