IU Women's Basketball Head Coach Sharon Versyp
On difference from last game at Ohio State:
"We had the same type of defense. The only thing we did a little different was maybe trying to take away the shooters a little bit. We got off to a really poor start. That pretty much sealed the deal, and that is not what happened at their place. They have a great defense, and we played poorly. That's a credit to Ohio State."
On foul trouble:
"It continues to effect us. We are not playing smart and some of the fouls should not even be a factor for us. That will continue to hurt us. Whitney (Thomas) did a good job, Angie (Hawkins) didn't and Cyndi (Valentin) obviously hurt us in that category today."
On good OSU defense and poor shot selection:
"They are very long and lanky. (Jessica) Davenport is very intimidating and even when you get close, you alter your shot and you shouldn't. I thought our shot selection was exceptionally poor. They are very aggressive and very physical that's a big part of it."
Senior Guard Cyndi Valentin
On her foul trouble:
"I got into foul trouble and really never got into the rhythm of the game. I mean it's my fault I committed a lot of stupid fouls, so yeah it was frustrating."
Sophomore Guard Nikki Smith
On her big three pointers:
"I just felt like they were taking away a lot of other options for us mainly in our post. They had a zone and we were able to attack their zone a little bit and it opened up our shooters, and luckily today they started to fall."
On the team's out of character play:
"Today just wasn't our night. We came out flat we all know it. We are not happy about it, and it's something we have to learn from. We know we have to come out every single night to compete with these teams in the Big Ten."
