Four Divers Move On to One-Meter Finals at Zones

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Seniors Ryan Fagan, Brian Mariano and Jesse Rappaport along with sophomore Taylor Roberts each moved on to finals of the one-meter competition at the 2006 Zone C Diving Championships in Columbus, Ohio, on March 11.
Fagan posted the third-highest tally of the morning with a 305.50. His best dive came in the third round with an inward 2.5 somersault from a tuck position for 58.90 points.
Meanwhile, Rappaport put himself in good position to earn a top-two spot and a berth at the NCAA Championships with a fourth-place prelim effort of 294.85. He connected on a forward 2.5 somersault from a pike position in the first round for 54.60 points.
Roberts stood in ninth after prelims with 278.35 points. He turned in his best dive in the sixth round with 60.00 points awarded to his reverse 1.5 somersault with 2.5 twists.
Additionally, Mariano snuck into the top-18 with 264.70 points for 13th. As usual, he nailed his final dive (an inward 2.5 somersault from a tuck position) for 55.80 points.
In other Hoosier action, sophomore Justin Montrie placed 19th with 238.60 points, while classmate David Legler took 30th with 210.50 points.
