Senior Reflection: Jenny DeMuth

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Senior guard/forward Jenny DeMuth, along with the Indiana women's basketball team, opens up competition at the 2006 Big Ten Championships in Indianapolis on March 2. The Highland, Ind., product recently took time out of her busy schedule to talk to IUHOOSIERS.com about her career and advice for future Hoosiers.
DeMuth, a fifth-year senior, has been a part of many great highlights in the Hoosier program. Her fondest memories include this season and the Big Ten Tournament triumph as a freshman.
"Winning the Big Ten tourney my freshman year and my entire senior year have been my greatest memories," DeMuth said. "It has been an awesome year and a new beginning for IU women's basketball. I will never forget my senior year."
The veteran also has provided an incredible amount of leadership for the Hoosiers this season. That expertise can still be passed on to newer Hoosiers as DeMuth has some advice for incoming freshmen heading to Bloomington next season.
"At first, it is going to be tough and you are going to hate it," DeMuth said. "But just give it some time, and you will realize that you have opportunities that many people wouldn't even dream about. It is all about time management and staying on top of your studies."
During her lengthy career at Indiana, DeMuth has developed as a person and a leader. She also told IUHOOSIERS.com what she gained the most by being a Hoosier.
"I have grown more as a person these past five years then I could have imagined," DeMuth said. "I learned that no matter how hard things may seem, there is always a bright side to everything."
Next up, DeMuth and the Hoosiers take on Michigan in the conference tournament at 8 p.m.
