With the winter months behind them, the Indiana men's and women's track and field teams are ready to kick off the 2006 outdoor season with its first official competition this weekend. Several members of the distance crew will head west to Palo Alto, Calif., where they will compete in the annual Stanford Inviational on March 31-April 1 at Cobb Track and Angell Field. Meanwhile, the rest of the track and field squad will compete in the Diet Pepsi Invite at the Percy Beard Track and Field Facility in Gainesville, Fla.
2006 NCAA INDOOR CHAMPIONSHIP RECAP
Four Hoosiers competed at the NCAA Indoor Championships, as David Neville, Stephen Haas, Kiwan Lawson and Ryan Ketchum traveled to Fayetteville, Ark., on March 10-11. Neville and Ketchum garnered All-America honors, with Neville placing second in the 400m and seventh in the 200m, while Ketchum heaved the seventh-best mark in the shot put to earn the accolade. Lawson and Haas finished 15th in the long jump and 5,000m, respectively.
