IUHOOSIERS.com recently asked each member of the Indiana men's golf team what clubs he carries around the links. In the upcoming weeks, each IU golfer will let us take a look inside his bag. Oren Hodak, a 5-11 senior from Dallas, Texas, is up next.
Overall
I have made many changes to my clubs this year, even as recent as this semester. I have recently switched my driver and wedges. Usually, I don't like making changes to my clubs, but I am already very comfortable over all my new sticks.
Putter
I switched to the Odyssey No. 2 putter at the beginning of this year, and it has treated me well so far. Putting is one of the things that doesn't hurt my game, but I could definitely benefit from it a little more. If my putter gets hot, nobody can stop me!!
Woods
I have recently switched to the Cleveland Comp 460 driver with an aldilla nv shaft. This club has added distance to my game while still keeping my accuracy the same. I have always hit the ball straight but now the longer drives will allow me to have shorter irons into greens, which will lead to better birdie opportunities
Irons
I have played my Mizuno MP30 irons for over a year, and I am still very satisfied with them. If there is one part of my game that never seems to fail, it is my ability to hit greens with these irons.
Wedges
I just made the switch from Cleveland wedges to Callaway. I use 52° and 60° lofts. When I am inside of 110 yards, I feel that it is automatically inside of 10 feet. If my game is slightly off one day, I am very confident that my wedge play will still enable me to shoot low numbers.
Ball
I'll play any ball that you give me.
