BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana sophomore offensive lineman Chauncey Incarnato was named a top 30 transfer by CollegeFootballNews.com on April 10. The list picks the top 30 players who have already sat out a year after their transfers between Division I-A institutions.
Incarnato, who transferred to Indiana from Notre Dame in August 2005, earned Associated Press Division III All-Ohio special mention honors as a senior at Dover (Ohio) High School in 2003, as he did not allow a sack for a team that went 10-1 and averaged nearly 38 points per game. Incarnato was a three-year letterwinner as a two-way starter at left offensive tackle and nose guard, recording 98 total tackles (15 for loss) and five quarterback sacks on defense while setting the school single-game, single-season and career records for pancake blocks by an offensive lineman. He participated in the Big 33 All-Star Game following his senior season, and he also competed in wrestling and track at Dover.
"(He is) a tackle with three years of eligibility remaining and the potential to make an instant impact," columnist Richard Cirminiello, who compiled the list, said. "He's a battler, who has the room to add some girth to his 6-5 frame."
IU's 2006 spring season concludes with the annual Cream and Crimson intrasquad game on April 15 at 4 p.m. at Memorial Stadium.
Free food will be provided to the first 1,000 fans attending the Spring Game on Saturday, April 15, courtesy of Bucceto's and Buffa Louie's.
IU season-ticket holders will also have the opportunity to renew their season tickets before the April 17 priority deadline to save 10-percent off the price of an adult ticket. Please call 855-4006 or 866-IUSPORTS for more information.
