BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Indiana volleyball team continues its spring season with competitions scheduled through the month of April. The Hoosiers are checking in with IUHOOSIERS.com from time to time to keep their fans abreast of how the spring season is going. Sophomore Gabrielle Allison reports in today.
The gym was hot. We are working on defense as another ball heads toward the ground. You hear the sound of Sara Diehl calling the ball as she hits the floor. We work hard to get better. Each repetition is rewarding as improvement is evident.
Hitting Lines. The front row is excited. The outsides take turns at the ball. The ball hits the floor hard as each girl rotates. Who can hit the hardest? Who can make the smartest shot? (Katie Weismiller) calls the middles. Yes! It's my turn Annie (Moddrell) goes up pounds a ball at left back. Is this a challenge? I run a slide behind the setter and swing line.
It's time to scrimmage. (Katie Weismiller) splits teams. We team up and encourage our teammates as we are about show off our talents. A miscommunication on the floor occurs and I take responsibility. Drop and give ten (pushups!).
Day is over and off to class back home to study and shower, then rinse and repeat.
