BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Indiana volleyball team continues its spring season with competitions scheduled through the month of April. The Hoosiers are checking in with IUHOOSIERS.com from time to time to keep their fans abreast of how the spring season is going. Sophomore Annie Moddrell reports in today.
We entered the Spring Fling this weekend playing host to Butler University, Western Kentucky University, Ball State University and Cincinnati University. After a slow start, we beat Butler in a three-game match. We went on to defeat the other three opponents in just two games each, ending our day with a 4-0 record. As a reward, we were given off of weightlifting and practice Monday in order to focus on our academics.
I think we worked really hard in practice this week in order to help prepare us for the competition. Our aggressive serving and phenomenal defense were keys to our game plan and remained consistent all day. I think with each passing week our individual skills continue to improve as well as our team chemistry. As our spring season winds up this weekend, we are looking for all the pieces of the puzzle to come together as we face some of the best competition in the nation in Aurora, Ill.
