Hoosiers In 12th Through Two Rounds of Lady Buckeye Invitational

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Indiana women's golf team shot a 613 after two rounds of the Lady Buckeye Invitational played on April 22. The Hoosiers carded scores of 306 and 307 through the opening 36 holes, and will enter Sunday's final round in 12th overall.
Three Hoosiers collected back-to-back sub-80 rounds during the first two rounds of play, led by the nation's 41st-ranked Division I golfer in senior Shannon Johnson. The Sioux Falls, S.D., native is tied for 22nd overall after recording rounds of 74 and 75 for a 149 on the par 72, 6,177-yard Golf Club of Dublin. Sophomore Elaine Harris continues to play well, carding a 152 (75-77), and is tied for 42nd overall. Freshman Amber Lindgren is five strokes behind Harris with a 157 (78-79), and is tied for 62nd overall.
Junior Jenny Kim (83-76) and freshman Tara Boone (79-80) round out Indiana with both shooting a 159, and enter Sunday's final round tied for 65th overall.
In a field which features some of the top-ranked teams in the nation, Auburn set the pace with a 568 (288-280), and will enter the final round of play 15 shots ahead of second-place Purdue (287-296/583). Florida is one shot behind the Boilers with a 584 (289-295), while Michigan State (290-297/587) and Kent State (287-302/589) round out the top five.
Individually, Maria Martinez and Nicole Hage of Auburn sit in No. 1 and No. 2 positions, respectively. Martinez shot a 136 (69-67), while Hage finished at 140 (71-69).
The Lady Buckeye Invitational continues Sunday with the final round. The teams will begin with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start.
