BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Bogado fanned nine batters in her opening outing against the Hawkeyes, followed by striking out six against No. 13 Michigan in the semifinal matchup. Coupled with her strength in the circle, the Mariara, Venezuela native hit .250 for the tournament, including two RBI against Iowa to lead the Hoosiers to an upset victory over the third seed.
The honor is Bogado's fourth of the week after being named IU Athlete of the Week on May 8, followed by being named the USA Softball National Collegiate Player of the Week on May 9 and then receiving second team accolades in the conference as a pitcher on May 11.
In her best season as a Hoosier, the senior finished the regular season and Big Ten Tournament portion of the schedule with a total of 289 strikeouts, a 1.57 ERA, .366 batting average with a team-leading 59 hits, 9 doubles, two triples, five home runs and 18 RBI.
Indiana now awaits the announcement of the NCAA 64-team tournament bracket, which will be announced on May 14, at 3:30 p.m. (ET) on ESPNews. Should the Hoosiers earn a bid, they will begin tournament play on May 18-20, at a location and time still to be determined.
