Hoosiers Set to Face Utes in Elimination Game

AUSTIN - The Indiana softball team will face Utah (39-20) in the elimination game on May 20, at 6 p.m. (CT) at Red and Charline McCombs Field in Austin. The Hoosiers (30-24-1), who fell to Texas earlier today, face Utah, who defeated UTSA in the afternoon game of the Austin Regional, 3-2.

This is the second meeting between the two teams, Indiana getting the better of Utah on Friday, May 19, with a 3-0 decision. Mariangee Bogado led the charge with a one-hitter, including eight strikeouts in the outing. The win over Utah gave Indiana only its second 30-win season since 1997, first since 2004 (32-31).

The winner of the elimination game will advance to face un-beaten Texas (51-7) in the championship game of the Austin Regional on Sunday, May 21, at 1 p.m. The team that advances will have to defeat Texas in back-to-back games to advance to the Super Regionals.
