4x400m Relay Team Advances to Finals in NCAA Championships

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - The Indiana men's 4x400m relay team advanced to the finals of the event at the 2006 Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Sacramento State's Alex G. Spanos Sports Complex on June 8. Additionally, John Jefferson and Ryan Ketchum closed the second day of competition with solid performances.
The Big Ten Champion 4x400m relay team finished in sixth place in the semifinals of the event. Trey Warfield, Doug Dayhoff, Ryan Smith and David Neville combined for a time of 3:04.92 to advance to Saturday's finals.
Jefferson came up just short of advancing in the 1,500m semifinals. Jefferson turned in a 14th-best time of 3:48.45.
In the men's shot put, Ketchum placed 20th after throwing a 17.76m (59-03.25) in his first attempt.
Wil Fleming (hammer throw finals), Kyle Jenkins (triple jump prelims), David Neville (400m semifinals) and Kelly Siefker (3,000m steeplechase finals) will compete on Friday, June 9 in their respective events.
