A Look Ahead: Connecticut

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana will take on Connecticut in its final non-conference game of the season. The Hoosiers and the Huskies will meet on Sept. 23 at 4 p.m. EDT at Memorial Stadium.
UConn is coming off a 2005 campaign in which it posted an overall record of 5-6 and a 2-5 mark in BIG EAST play. The Huskies notched wins over Buffalo, Liberty, Army, Syracuse and South Florida in 2005.
On offense, the Huskies return quarterback Matt Bonislawski. Last season, Bonislawski threw for 836 yards and six touchdowns, averaging 119.4 yards per game. Brandon Young returns to the UConn lineup as the Huskies' leading receiver from a year ago. In 2005, Young caught 28 passes for 371 yards. On the ground, Connecticut's leading rusher, Terry Caulley, returns. Caulley averaged 4.7 yards per carry last season and recorded six touchdowns.
Connecticut returns key players on defense from the squad that led the BIG EAST in total defense last season. Linebacker Danny Lansanah, the Huskies' leading tackler from a year ago, makes his way back into the lineup after tallying 79 tackles last season. Strong safety Marvin Taylor returns to the UConn backfield after recording the second-most tackles in 2005 with 64. Second team All-BIG EAST defensive tackle Rhema Fuller is set to anchor the defensive line for his senior campaign.
