Chappell Shines in Indiana North-South All-Star Game

INDIANAPOLIS - Indiana University football signee Ben Chappell (Bloomington South) earned Most Valuable Player honors for his performance at the 40th-annual Grange Insurance/Indiana Football Coaches Association (IFCA) North-South All-Star Game on July 15 at Carmel High School. Chappell, along with incoming offensive lineman James Brewer (Indianapolis Arlington) and linebacker William Patterson (Lawrence North) helped the South squad to a 28-10 win over offensive lineman Cody Faulkner (Hamilton Heights) and defensive lineman Deonte Mack's (Elkhart) North team.
Chappell led the South offense with nine completions (13 attempts) for 258 yards. For the day, the Bloomington, Ind., native threw for three touchdowns including a 93-yard bomb, tying the Indiana North-South All-Star Game record for the longest touchdown pass.
On the other side of the ball, Patterson recorded a South team-high seven tackles, including one solo take down.
