Indiana senior guard Leah Enterline is currently traveling through Denmark, Norway and Sweden on the Big Ten Women's Basketball Foreign Team Tour. While on the tour, Enterline is keeping a diary for iuhoosiers.com. The following is her third entry:
Yesterday was our only full day in Malmo, Sweden. We went to breakfast at 9 a.m. so we could get an early start on our fun-filled day ahead of us. Breakfast was interesting. There was a lot more variety than at the first hotel we stayed at. It was set up like a cafeteria. There were a lot more cold meats and cheeses to choose from, as well as fish. They even had caviar paste...mmm! I decided not to try this one. After breakfast we loaded up and headed for the ceramic and crystal outlet stores. The items in the stores were much cheaper than many other places would offer them for. I bought a candle holder and almost bought a whole set, but my bags are already close to the weight limit for the airplane, so I stuck with the single. After we finished shopping, we went back to the hotel. Since it was Sunday, there were not many stores open, but we did find a souvenir shop on one of the side streets. I bought a few souvenir plates and some coffee mugs for my family. After that, Erin from Illinois and I went into a department store to look at some jeans. We took a picture of a manikin because the style of clothing in Sweden in so different from what we're used to. Erin was going to pose with it but we decided not to draw more attention to ourselves than we needed to. We left the store and went to an Italian restaurant. I ordered a half-Hawaiian half-mushroom and garlic pizza. It was delicious! We talked for awhile and then went back to the hotel. At 9 p.m., Erin, Rashida (PSU), Megan (IOWA), Brianne (PSU) and I went to see the movie Poseidon. What a great movie to go see four days before our cruise. It was basically a remake of Titanic. It was a good movie though. After the movie we went back to the hotel and hung out in Bri and Megan's room for awhile. Then I decided to go back to my room to pack my things. Today we are just traveling to Norway. It's an eight-hour trip...yuck!
More to come...
