Wilmont to Compete on Big Ten Foreign Tour Team

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana senior guard Roderick Wilmont will be among the 12 Big Ten Conference players participating with the league's 2006 Foreign Tour team. Michigan head coach Tommy Amaker will direct this year's club through a four-game schedule in Australia from Aug. 8-18.
The 6-4 Wilmont was among the Big Ten's top sixth men last season, posting 10 double-digit scoring efforts off the bench. The 10 double-digit outings as a reserve were the most by a Hoosier since Kirk Haston (1998-99) and Greg Graham (1991-92) accomplished the feat. Wilmont tallied a career-high 23 points (5-of-10 from three-point range) against Northwestern on Feb. 1, and he scored 11 of his 13 points in the second half of a regular season finale victory at Michigan. Wilmont finished the year averaging nine points and four rebounds per game.
Wilmont will be joined in the Big Ten Foreign Tour Team backcourt by Michigan State's Travis Walton, Ohio State's Ron Lewis and Penn State's Michael Walker. Northwesterm's Tim Doyle and Purdue's Gordon Watt can play forward or guard, and Illinois' Marcus Arnold will play forward. Iowa's Seth Gorney and Minnesota's Jonathan Williams will play center.
