IU Day at the Indiana State Fair on Aug. 10

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Thursday, Aug. 10 is Indiana University Day at the Indiana State Fair. Fairgoers are encouraged to see how IU helps the lives of Indiana residents every day at more than 60 interactive exhibits on Expo Hall Street. In addition, there will be two pep rallies featuring special guests including the IU Marching Hundred, IU Cheerleaders, IU President Adam W. Herbert, Athletics Director Rick Greenspan, and Head Football Coach Terry Hoeppner.
From 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Aug. 10, Indiana fans may stop by the Indiana Athletics Tent on the south end of Expo Hall Street to pick up posters, schedule cards and magnets. There will also be face tattoos for young Hoosier fans.
The first pep rally of the day will be held from 11:30 a.m.-12:15 p.m. at the Home and Family Arts Building Stage on Expo Hall Street. President Herbert and Coach Hoeppner will address the crowd and fans will view performances by the IU Marching Hundred and IU Cheerleaders. IU Alumni Association President Ken Beckley will serve as emcee.
The second pep rally will take place from 4-4:45 p.m. at the Home and Family Arts Building Stage. President Herbert, Greenspan and Miss Indiana will be the featured speakers and the IU Cheerleaders will perform. IU Alumni Association President Ken Beckley will serve as emcee.
Hoosier fans are invited to join the IU Cheerleaders and other participants in the State Fair Parade. Lineup begins at 6 p.m. at the Swine Barn, and the parade commences at 6:30 p.m.
