Legette-Jack Completes Roster With Junior College Standout

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Nicole Hardin, a guard from Lincoln Land (Ill.) Community College, has signed a scholarship agreement to continue her collegiate career as Indiana University. IU head coach Felisha Legette-Jack announced on July 20. Hardin is enrolled at Indiana this semester and will officially join the program for preseason workouts on Aug. 28.
"We are very fortunate to have Nicole as apart of our Indiana women's basketball family," Legette-Jack said. "She is a young lady that is a proven winner. She doesn't need the glory of individual accomplishments. She does all the things that you can't really see on paper, but you know that she was there because of the success of the team. We hope that she can bring us an outside threat, a passionate work ethic and continue the team's academic strength."
Hardin averaged 11.1 points, 4.1 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game at Lincoln Land earning first team all-region and all-conference honors. The 5-foot-9 guard helped lead the Loggers to a 23-9 mark a year ago, including a seven-game win streak between Jan. 25-Feb. 18. Hardin ranked 32nd among NJCAA Division II, sinking .589 of her shots from the field, and 39th in shooting from the line (.791).
Hardin is the first signee for the Legette-Jack staff since their arrival in Bloomington in late April.
Hardin, a native of Calumet City, Ill., and graduate of George Washington High School in Chicago, spent her freshman year at Iowa Western Community College in Council Bluffs before transferring to Lincoln Land. She helped lead the 2004-05 Iowa Western squad to a 26-5 mark, while averaging 4.0 points and 1.6 rebounds per game.
