BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Rain could not stop hold off action for long at the opening day Indiana University's leg of the 2006 Intercollegiate Tennis Association's (ITA) Collegiate Summer Circuit presented by the United States Tennis Association (USTA) on July 27.
The second day of competition gets underway at 8 a.m. with the women's singles main draw, followed by the main draw of the men's singles. Matches and player check-in will be at IU's Varsity Tennis Courts. The tournament runs through July 30.
At the end of each day, results will be available in PDF format on the women's tennis page of IUHOOSIERS.com.
The ITA Summer Circuit is made up of five regional circuits (East, Southeast, Midwest, Southwest and West) with each region sponsoring four consecutive tournaments played in the month of July, concluding with the National Summer Championships. The Circuit, which provides college tennis players an opportunity to compete in organized tournaments in the summer, is the product of Indiana head women's tennis coach Lin Loring. Over 15,000 student-athletes have participated in ITA's summer play since the tournament's inception in 1993.
