McCarthy, Ishtuganov, Compete at ITA Summer National Championship

Bloomington, Ind. - Junior Michael McCarthy and former Hoosier Dmytro Ishtuganov will compete at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's (ITA) Summer National Championship, Aug. 12-16 at the IU Varsity Tennis Courts.
The winners of the event will earn bids to the first national tournaments of the season, the ITA All-American Championships.
McCarthy was one of four players last year to reach the 20-win plateau for Indiana. A mainstay at No. 5 singles, he went 20-17 overall and 4-6 in Big Ten action. The Cincinnati, Ohio native was also an Academic All-Big Ten selection.
Ishtuganov recently completed his four years of eligibility. He earned All-Big Ten honors as a senior, and had a career-high 21 singles victories in the No. 1 slot for the Hoosiers. The Kiev, Ukraine native finished his career ranked 111th in the ITA rankings.
