A Day at Camp: Austin Thomas

With the Hoosiers kicking off their second week of preseason camp on Aug. 14, redshirt freshman safety Austin Thomas took a few minutes to talk to IUHOOSIERS.com. After hearing from senior safety Will Meyers last week, here is what a typical day for Thomas is like as he prepares for the 2006 season.
"The practice schedule is the same as it was the first week, but we have the pads on and there is full contact. The tempo has definitely picked up now that we can hit. We have meetings before our practices, and we are practicing twice a day. We are constantly working on getting on the same page.
Right now, the defense is playing really fast, and we are making great strides. Camp has really helped the defense. We need to work on keeping that tempo up and working hard. School starts in a few weeks, and I am excited to get started with class.
In the locker room, we have a clock that counts down to the Western Michigan game. Now that camp is in session, we all keep looking up there. It's less than three weeks away and that's really exciting."
