Throughout the 2006 preseason, IUHOOSIERS.com will be taking an insider's look at the women's soccer team. Each day from Aug. 8-23, a different member of the team will be keeping a diary of the day's events. The entry for Sunday, Aug. 13 is by senior midfielder Carrie DeFreece:
Today we put on our uniforms for the first time and battled it out against each other in the Cream and Crimson scrimmage. A lot of people were excited for today for a couple of reasons - first off because it was our first day to sleep in for some of us and secondly because it is always nice to play on our game field and also play a full game.
I think the scrimmage went well and I am excited about the potential that our team has. It will be nice for our first exhibition game to come so that we get a break from beating up on each other!
The rest of our day was filled with naps, food and enjoying a little time off. Some of us are moving into new homes or apartments right now, so that also keeps us busy.
Tomorrow starts another week of preseason...bring it on!
