Throughout the 2006 preseason, IUHOOSIERS.com will be taking an insider's look at the women's soccer team. Each day from Aug. 8-23, a different member of the team will be keeping a diary of the day's events. The entry for Tuesday, Aug. 15, is by sophomore Ashley Seib:
Today began at 5:45 a.m. The team was warmed up and running by 6:30 a.m. at the football stadium with the team's favorite strength/conditioning coach Andy Campbell. Morning fitness is always a killer. Andy really knows how to burn our buns. A few hundred laps and sprints later, "Hell" was over.
Practice today went well. We always have technical work during the morning sessions and today we focused on winning balls in the air and perfecting our crosses. I believe coach could tell our legs and bodies were tired because he decided to let the team skip weights and the evening training session for the day. WooooHooooo!
Because we all had the evening off, we decided to do a little team bonding with the IU women's soccer talent show. There was an award for the best and worst performances. My partner, Becky Prokopiak, and I were honored to leave the show with worst performance awards.
Until next time, TEAM IU...
