This women's soccer season, IUHOOSIERS.com is taking an insider's look at the Hoosiers. Part of that will be the captain's log, where every Thursday one of the Hoosiers' tri-captains will give her view of IU's week. The entry for Thursday, Aug. 31, is by senior Carrie DeFreece.
It has been a good week so far. The freshmen managed to find their way around campus for our first week of classes and we have had two good practices. The freshmen also got a taste of "terrible Tuesdays," which include a day of classes and an intense practice followed by fitness and then a total body lifting session!
Kristin Arnold and I were lifting buddies and she introduced me to an awkward way of bench-pressing, but you'll have to ask her about that. :) After lifting, Jenna Babcock and I headed off to our two-hour exercise physiology lab to top off our fun-filled day! Even as a senior I forget how tiring these days can be!
Wednesday night, we had a night practice on the game field. After we warmed up, we played three 20-minute periods of 11-v-11. We all enjoyed playing under the lights and on the nice surface.
After a disappointing weekend as far as results go, we are all focused and determined to get two wins out of this weekend. I am so excited for our team to get some victories! GO HOOSIERS!
