Hoosiers Announced as part of Fox Soccer Channel Package

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - For the second straight season, the Hoosiers will be featured on Fox Soccer Channel as part of the National Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) College Match of the Week. Indiana's contest with Penn State on Oct. 20 will be one of the 12 matches airing on Fox Soccer Channel.
The 12-game telecast schedule features 16 men's teams ranked in the NSCAA/adidas preseason Top 25.
"Indiana is elated to again be part of Fox Soccer Channel's College Match of the Week," head coach Mike Freitag said. "It is a big step in the growth of college soccer. I look forward to the trip to Happy Valley for Big Ten rival Penn State.
"The series is a great way to showcase college soccer, and we are proud to be part of that showcase."
This is the second straight year that the Indiana-Penn State rivalry has been televised by Fox Soccer Channel. Last year, the two teams played on Sept. 30 in Bloomington, with the Nittany Lions beating the Hoosiers 2-1 in overtime.
Over the past eight years, Indiana has a 14-5-2 record when playing on television, encompassing games on Fox Soccer Channel, CN8, CSTV, ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, Fox Sports Net and Comcast Local.

"Our NSCAA College Match of the Week showcases a wide selection of the top-ranked collegiate teams and is the perfect complement to Fox Soccer Channel's year-round coverage of top international and domestic soccer competitions."
Veteran announcer Sean Wheelock will be the announcer for the men's games.
"The NSCAA is excited about the matches it will bring to soccer fans across the United States," said NSCAA President Louise Waxler. "The teams involved are among the elite in intercollegiate men's and women's soccer, and are sure to provide thrilling contests for Fox Soccer Channel's viewers."
Santa Barbara, California-based Cultural Videos Communications is returning for a second season to coordinate the production of all the men's and women's NSCAA matches on Fox Soccer Channel. Cultural Videos Founder David Bolton, who also produces USL and MLS coverage on Fox Soccer Channel, will again serve as director/producer of the FSC college package.
The Hoosiers return to the field on Friday, Sept. 1, to host the adidas/IU Credit Union Classic, featuring No. 12 Indiana, No. 15 Notre Dame, No. 2 Connecticut and Saint Louis. Indiana will face Connecticut in its first game at 7:30 p.m.
