BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - With seven home football games in 2006, Indiana will have seven opportunities to "Defend The Rock" - Memorial Stadium. Bloomington-area businesses and IU fans can also aid this effort by participating in "Hoosier Fridays."
Each Friday during the football season, IU students, faculty, staff and fans are encouraged to wear officially-licensed Indiana Hoosier apparel to get ready for that weekend's game. Participating business establishments will reward fans wearing IU gear with special discounts and promotions.
Participating fans will receive a "Hoosier Fridays Fan Card" which will be stamped upon a transaction at a participating establishment. Once a fan has visited all participating businesses, the completed card can be entered into a drawing for great IU prizes.
Terry Hoeppner says that this is a "win, win" situation for IU fans, local businesses and the Hoosier Football program.
"Our fans were unbelievable last season, but this is a new year and we need them to fill `The Rock' seven times this fall," Hoeppner said. "Not only does the `Hoosier Fridays' promotion help paint Bloomington Cream and Crimson every football weekend, but it also helps drive traffic to local businesses."
If you are interested in receiving more information about how your business can get involved with "Hoosier Fridays," please contact Robin Cooper at 812-855-8830. Cost to participate is only $250. This program is a great way to support Indiana Football and advertise your business through newspaper ads and point-of-sale transactions. Deadline for enrollment is Aug. 11.
If your business is unable to participate in this promotion, please consider rewarding your employees with tickets to the game. IU Football single game and group ticket packages are available. Please call 1-866-IUSPORTS for more information.
