Patrick Places 14th in 100m Fly at Senior Nationals

IRVINE, Calif. - Rising Indiana junior Todd Patrick took 14th place in the 100-meter butterfly at the 2006 ConocoPhillips National Championships/World Championship Trials at the William Woollett, Jr. Aquatic Center on Aug. 3, turning in a time of 54.95 in the consolation final.
Patrick earned his spot in the consolation final with a 15th-place finish in the preliminaries, in which he touched in an Olympic Trial cut time of 54.93.
Classmate Ben Hesen was 38th in the preliminaries, as he posted a time of 55.98.
Patrick also competed in the 50m free on Aug. 3, finishing 51st in the preliminaries with a time of 23.86.
The National Championships continue on Aug. 4 with titles in the 100m free, 200m individual medley, 1500m free and 800m free relay up for grabs. Preliminaries start at 9 a.m. Pacific time, with finals following at 5:30 p.m.
