With the Hoosiers taking part in their first practice of the season on Monday, Aug. 7, senior safety Will Meyers took a few minutes to talk to IUHOOSIERS.com. Here's what a typical day in his life is like as he gets back into the football season.
It's pretty good living in the University Plaza Hotel. My first year we lived in the dorm which is pretty rough, but the hotel life isn't that bad.
We eat breakfast here at the stadium. We get up, come over, eat breakfast and have position meetings. This morning, we had the freshman run. We just come over, have meetings and eat lunch. A lot a people were off this afternoon, but I had to do schoolwork.
You don't forget what it's like to be in meetings. The first day, the coaches usually go over the same stuff, but this year we have some new stuff going into defense, so it's a little more interesting.
I'm in school right now. In the morning, we had meetings and right after I had early lunch and went to a meeting up at the library from 12-3, then came over here and practiced.
It's always good to get the first practice underway, where the training and hard work you do in the summer pays off.
We looked good in practice. Today was just on air, we didn't really do much, but from what I could see people were flying around and made a lot of plays out there on the ball, so I feel good.
I have a football meeting tonight, and I'm going to have to go to a meeting for school too.
