BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Indiana University Radio Network has strengthened its presence in the valuable Northwest Indiana market. Indiana University Sports Properties and Artistic Media Partners have arranged for Gary-based WLTH-AM (1370) to carry Indiana football and men's basketball games and weekly coaches call-in shows this season.
WLTH broadcasts at 1,000 watts during the day and 500 watts at night. The station's broadcast range stretches as far east as South Bend and as far west as Aurora, Ill. Gary is in the Central time zone.
"I'm glad all the Hoosier faithful in `The Region' will get a chance to cheer on the Hoosiers this season," Indiana head football coach Terry Hoeppner said. "We are The Indiana University, and our coverage should reach every corner of the state. We need all of the Hoosier Nation's support, and this is a great way to reach out to our fans in Northwest Indiana."
WLTH joins more than 40 other statewide radio stations that comprise the IU Radio Network. IU Sports Properties, a division of Learfield Communications, manages the network. For more information on the IU Radio Network, go to the official website of Indiana Athletics at IUHOOSIERS.com.
