Senior forward Kevin Robson assisted on both goals Indiana scored in a 2-1 win over Tulsa at the SMU Mi Cocina Classic. He was named to the all-tournament team for his efforts. Robson sat down with IUHOOSIERS.com to wrap up the SMU Mi Cocina Classic.
Saturday morning we got up and had bagels for breakfast, which was really good. We were a little down about the game, but we knew we were going to bounce back and get a win against Tulsa.
Saturday went by really quick because we were excited to play. We knew Tulsa was a good team, but we wanted that win pretty bad.
We came out a little bit slow. We had some good chances that we didn't capitalize on. Overall, I thought that we played better than we did Friday night. Second half, we really picked it up. It seems like we always play with more urgency after the other team scores. That's something we need to fix. We can't always dig ourselves holes like that. That's not a good formula for success. We need to score goals before they do. Getting that first goal is going to be important.
When we tied it up and went into overtime, we had a lot of momentum. We had a lot of confidence that we were going to win that game. When we tied it, I knew we were going to win. It was a big win for us. It was good to cap off the weekend with a W.
That evening, we went our separate ways for dinner. I went out for Mexican with Matt Burke (manager), Julian Dieterle and Chris Munroe. Good company. We also watched some college football before we went to bed. It was a fun night.
Sunday, we got to sleep in a little before going to the airport. There was a positive atmosphere around the team because of the win.
I'm really hyped for Saint Louis. I can't wait to go back home. I know they're expecting a huge crowd, with the game being a Friday night nationally televised game. We need to come out with our `A' game and play two good halves.
