10 Questions With Doug Reisinger

Sophomore Doug Reisinger is in his third year with the Hoosiers. He sat down with IUHOOSIERS.com to answer a few questions about himself.
If you could visit anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?
I would like to go to Rio de Janeiro in Brazil to see the Cristo Redentor. It looks amazing in pictures, just beautiful.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
Hopefully with a family. I would like to do something with soccer, either playing or coaching, and helping young kids play soccer.
What makes Indiana different from any other program?
We're the best of the best. Everyone comes out to work hard every day. We all work hard for one another, and there's a great team spirit. That's what sets us apart, we're always trying to be better and better every day. I don't think you get that at other programs.
My favorite thing about Bloomington is:
The people around campus. Everyone is friendly and warm towards everyone, and it's cool to see all the different faces everyday on campus. My favorite thing is walking around campus and seeing all the different people, enjoying the environment. It's a great school to be a part of.
Since coming to Indiana, I've learned:
I've learned so much about myself as a person. Aside from schoolwork, I've learned so much with soccer, playing with such good players and coaches.
What is your favorite sport besides soccer?
I'd have to say wrestling. I participated in wrestling when I was younger, and besides soccer, it's the only other sport that I really loved. My favorite sport to watch is football. I like the Bengals and the Ravens.
Who has been the biggest influence in your life and why?
My brother because he's struggled a lot with soccer and other things, and now he's going to play professionally in Germany. I look at his strength through what he's been through, and I admire that. I've always looked up to him.
Why did you start playing soccer?
My parents started me in all sorts of sports when I was four, and I just loved it. It's my favorite thing to do. I've always enjoyed the team aspect of it. It was what I was best at, and I excelled in it. I've always enjoyed it.
What is your favorite soccer memory?
The freekick goal I scored against Butler in the spring of my freshman year. The coaches and a couple of older players on the bench were yelling at me to take it, and I just buried it. It was a great feeling to be able to do that for my teammates and in front of my family, to be able to show them that I made it.
What do you like best about Coach Freitag?
All the coaches always want us to win. They're always fiery in the locker room, and they always push us to be our best. They want what's best for our team and the program, and I think that attitude carries to every player on the field. They're always pushing us and always wanting us to work hard to be our best.
