BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana fans will have their second opportunity of the 2006 season to see the Hoosiers take "The Walk" to "The Rock" prior to this Saturday's game against Southern Illinois.
The game kicks off at 4 p.m. EDT, and at approximately 1:50 p.m., the team buses will enter Bloomington via the 45/46 bypass from State Road 37 and proceed south on College Avenue. The buses will then turn left on 17th Street to head towards The Rock. To make fans aware of the team's arrival, the buses will drive around the perimeter of the south grass parking lots; heading south on Indiana Ave., turning left on 14th Street, and then back north on Woodlawn Ave. The team buses will stop along Woodlawn Ave. where the team will depart the buses.
The Hoosiers will march toward the west entrance of Assembly Hall, where the IU Marching Hundred and Cheerleading Squads will await their arrival. The Marching Hundred will perform "Indiana, Our Indiana," "Indiana, Fight" and "R-O-C-K in the USA," and fans will line the pathway of "The Walk" to show their support for the Hoosiers as they head towards the crimson gates of Memorial Stadium.
Additionally, Indiana University Athletics and Coca Cola have team up this football season. IU and Coca Cola present Hoosier fans with the Coca Cola Family 4 Pack. The offer, which is valid for the next three home games of the season, includes four tickets to a game, four soft drinks, four hot dogs and four popcorns for only $88.
Starting with Saturday's tilt against Southern Illinois, the Hoosiers kick off a three-game homestand. UConn heads to Bloomington for a 3:30 p.m. start on Sept. 23, while Indiana then opens its Big Ten campaign against Wisconsin on Sept. 30.
Fans can purchase the 4 Pack by contacting the IU Athletic Ticket Office at 866-IUSPORTS and asking for the Coca Cola Family 4 Pack offer. Fans may also get a free magnetic IU football schedule from Coca Cola with the purchase of a 2-liter Coca Cola product at Bloomington-area grocery and convenience stores. The Coca Cola Family 4 Pack is only valid for home games in September and may not be combined with other offers.
