Hoosiers to Participate in The Flat Stanley Project

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Indiana field hockey team will participate in The Flat Stanley Project during the course of the 2006 season in conjunction with White River Elementary School in Noblesville, Ind. The project, designed as a literacy and communication activity for school-age children, entails a community group traveling and journaling about their adventures with Flat Stanley.
In Jeff Brown's children's book, Flat Stanley, Stanley is squashed flat by a falling bulletin board. One of the many advantages of being flat is that Flat Stanley can now visit his friends by traveling in an envelope.

The first stop for Flat Stanley is the Hoosiers' home opener against Central Michigan on Friday, Sept. 15. Game time is slated for 3 p.m. in Mellencamp Pavilion.
