Schrott Named Co-Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Big Ten Conference named senior All-American forward Lydia Schrott Co-Offensive Player of the Week on Sept. 25. The honor is Schrott's second of the season and the third of her career.
The Quarryville, Pa., product led the Hoosiers to a pair of victories last weekend, including a 5-4 double-overtime win against Northwestern on Sept. 22 and a 3-1 victory over New Hampshire on Sept. 24. The win over NU marked the second consecutive year the Hoosiers have opened the conference slate with a victory.
Against NU, Schrott recorded her fourth-career hat trick (program's fifth) with her game-winning, double overtime goal against the Wildcats. The game-winner is her fourth this season.
More impressively, the thrilling game-winning goal marked Schrott's 100th career point, making her the first Hoosier in program history to hit the 100-point plateau.
Schrott followed her performance against Northwestern with a one goal, one assist showing against New Hampshire. Schrott tied the score at one as she lifted her first penalty stroke attempt of the season over the top of New Hampshire goalkeeper Margaux Shute. With second remaining in the game, Schrott drove deep into Wildcat territory, pulling Shute away from the cage to set up freshman forward Haley Funk's goal and the 3-1 win.
For the weekend, Schrott tallied four goals and one assist for nine points. Schrott leads the Hoosiers in goals (12), points (28) and game-winning goals (4). So far this season, she has made some kind of scoring impact in all 10 of Indiana's games.
Currently, Schrott leads the Big Ten (all games) in points (28), goals (12), goals per game (1.20) and game-winning goals (4).
Schrott shares this week's honor with Ohio State's Yesenia Luces and was also was honored on Sept. 11 after netting two goals and a pair of assists against Miami, Ohio and Radford. Additionally, she picked up the honor last season on Aug. 29 for recording the program's first hat trick against Northeastern.
