Hoosiers Move Up Two Slots to No. 12 in Rankings

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Indiana field hockey team moved up two slots from No. 14 to No. 12 in Sept. 26's National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) poll. After wins over Big Ten foe Northwestern (5-4) and New Hampshire (3-1), the Hoosiers are now 9-1 overall and 1-0 in conference play.
Five of Indiana's 2006 opponents earned a national ranking this week, including No. 5 Ohio State, No. 8 Virginia, No. 9 Penn State, No. 13 Louisville and No. 20 Michigan. Additionally, four Big Ten teams earned a top-20 nod.
Indiana welcomes Iowa and No. 5 Ohio State to Bloomington this weekend. The Hoosiers will take on the Hawkeyes on Friday, Sept. 29 at 3 p.m. (ET), before squaring off against the undefeated Buckeyes on Sunday, Oct. 1 at 1 p.m. (ET). Both games will be played in Mellencamp Pavilion.
