Freshman Darren Yeagle currently leads the Hoosiers with four goals this season. The Louisville, Kentucky native sat down with IUHOOSIERS.com to answer a few questions about himself.
If you could visit anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?
Barcelona, Spain, to watch FC Barcelona play soccer.
Since coming to Indiana, I've learned:
Dedication, hard work and friendship.
Who has been the biggest influence in your life and why?
My dad, because he's helped me get to where I am right now. He worked me hard when I was younger.
The teammate I most admire is who, and why?
Josh Tudela because he's a fifth year senior and he has a lot of experience. He works hard and he gets everyone going. He's a great leader.
My favorite thing about Bloomington is:
The College Mall because I like to go visit the puppies. I really want to get a dog. The downtown area is also great, the different stores and stuff.
What makes Indiana special from any other program?
The soccer program is great because I'm playing with the best players in the nation. The school is good because of the different backgrounds of the people who go to school here.
What is your favorite sport besides soccer?
Football. I like the Green Bay Packers.
What are your goals for this year?
To do well individually to help the team out. We want to win the Big Ten championship and the national championship.
Something that many people don't know about you is:
I like to go to the horse track in Kentucky. I go to the Kentucky Derby every year.
Do you have a nickname that your teammates gave you?
My teammates call me Smiley, because I smile a lot.
