Hoosiers In Third At Rain Soaked Wolverine Invitational

ANN ARBOR, Mich. - The Indiana University women's golf team stands in third place with one round completed at the Wolverine Invitational. The second round, also scheduled to be completed on Saturday, was delayed partway through due to inclement weather and will be concluded on Sunday, Oct. 1 at 9 a.m.
The Hoosiers carded a 308 in the first round of play and are 10-over par thus far in the second round. Freshman Laura Nochta leads the way for Indiana, standing in a tie for second at four-over par. She carded a one-over 72 in the first round and is three-over through 12 holes of her second round.
Junior Elaine Harris stands in a tie for 12th place at eight-over par. Harris turned in a 77 in the first round and is two-over through 14 holes of the second 18. Freshman Anita Gahir is tied for 25th at 10-over par after carding a 79 in the first round. She is two-over through the first 11 holes of the second round. Fellow freshman Kellye Belcher stands in a tie for 31st after carding an 80 in the opening 18. She is 12-over par for the tournament and three over on her second round. Rounding out the Hoosier lineup is sophomore Tara Boone, who is tied for 52nd at 20-over. She turned in an 86 in the first round and stands five-over par on her second 18.
Michigan leads the team scoring at 24-over par. The host Wolverines carded a 305 in the first round and are three-over for the second 18. Ohio State also turned in a 305 in the first round and is eight-over on the closing round to stand in second at 29 over par.
The third and final round of the tournament will be concluded immediately following the finish of the second round on Sunday, Oct. 1. Live stats will be available at www.golfstat.com.
