During the 2006 season, IUHOOSIERS.com will give women's soccer fans an insider's look at what it's like to be a member of the team. Every Tuesday, a different Hoosier will bring her view of the weekend's events to IUHOOSIERS.com. The entry for Tuesday, Sept. 5, is by junior Jenna Babcock.
After attending my Tuesday classes then grabbing some lunch it was already time to start getting ready for practice. It seems like 2:45 rolls around faster and faster everyday. I made a quick stop by the training room and then I was off to the U-school field where we train.
Practice started out with some light, but at the same time intense passing. Today's practice encompassed not only soccer, but a mini-geometry lesson. We went from a square shape, to a rectangle shape, and finally ended up in a kite formation.
After our warm up it was time to pick up our intensity and begin the three zone possession game towards goals. When that was completed it was time for our favorite part of Tuesdays, fitness. Everyone did a nice job pushing hard until the end. An intense lighting bolt cut our practice shorter than expected and we were off to the weight room.
They don't call it terrible Tuesday for nothing. After lifting upper and lower body with my textbook lifting partner Natalie O'Bryan I was ready for dinner and my bed.
Only three more days until we take the field again at Armstrong Stadium to take on Northern Arizona.
GO HOOSIERS!
