From Jan. 2-6, midfielder Christie Kotynski of the women's soccer team participated with the Olympic Developmental Program's Region II Under-19 squad in interregional play in Ventura, Calif. The freshman kept a diary of her daily events from the West Coast, and IUHOOSIERS.com will publish her entries this week. The second entry is for Friday, Jan. 5.
Day 4: The day off in Santa Barbara was so fun!
We walked around in the afternoon and went in all the cute shops - it was awesome! For lunch, we went in this little deli and we had a special appearance of a pigeon next to our table while we ate. It was a very interesting lunch, but so good!
I must say that this made me want to live in California, except one major thing would make me not want to live there, and that is the prices. I was amazed at how expensive everything was! It was crazy!
After a day of walking around and shopping, everyone was exhausted, so we went to our rooms and watched one of the best shows ever - "America's Next Top Model." I think while we were there, we went through four seasons of it! Later that night, we took a break from that show and watched "Man of the Year" and laughed so much! This last full day of California was great!
