Clausing Named IU Athlete of the Week

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - On a weekly basis, IUHOOSIERS.com will recognize the top performance in Hoosier Athletics by selecting an IU Athlete of the Week. For the week ending Jan. 28, senior track athlete Stacey Clausing is the winner.
Clausing won two events at the Gladstein Invitational, plus helped the 4x400 meter relay team to a victory.
Clausing won the 400-meter dash on Friday, Jan. 26, with an NCAA provisional qualifying time of 54.37. On Saturday, Jan. 27, she won the 200-meter dash in 24.21. Both events featured over 40 athletes, including several Big Ten schools.
The St. Mary's, Ohio, native ran the second leg of the 4x400 meter relay, which came in first with a time of 3:48.70.

Jeff Coover
So. - LaJolla, Calif. - LaJolla
Coover cleared 5.20 meters to win the pole vault at the Gladstein Invitational, a personal best and an NCAA provisional qualifying mark. He is the second men's athlete this season to record an NCAA provisional qualifying mark.
Women's Basketball
Sarah McKay
Sr. - Victoria, B.C., Canada - Stelly's Secondary
McKay averaged nearly a double-double in two tough road losses that week for the Hoosiers. She registered 16 points, six rebounds, two blocks and two steals in a tough loss at No. 5/7 Ohio State. She then posted her second double-double of the season with a game-high 19 points and 11 rebounds in a heart-breaker at Michigan. On the week, McKay averaged 17.5 points, 8.5 rebounds and 2.0 blocked shots, while shooting 48.4 percent from the floor and 75.0 percent from the free throw line.

Trevor Perry
r-Fr. - Davidson, Mich. - Davidson
Perry moved to 3-0 in his Big Ten career with a 19-4, second-period
technical fall of Tommy Priestly to earn bonus points for the Hoosiers
against Ohio State. The redshirt freshman is now 14-6 overall on the season.
Women's Tennis
Cecile Perton
Sr. - Briey, France - Louis Bertrand
Perton went 4-0 on the weekend, winning two singles and two doubles matches. At No. 5 singles, she defeated DePaul's Bojana Murisic, 6-4, 6-0, then downed Ashley Harrison of Butler, 6-0, 6-0, in the afternoon. Perton teamed with sophomore Sigrid Fischer in doubles to win two matches at No. 2, notably a tough 9-8 win against DePaul's Beatrix Csordas and Anja Mihaldinec.
Men's Diving
Taylor Roberts
Jr. - Aurora, Colo. - Smoky Hill
Roberts won the 3-meter in a loss to No. 18 Purdue on Saturday, turning in a score of 390.98, the seventh-best mark in school history.
Men's Basketball
D.J. White
Jr. - Tuscaloosa, Ala. - Hillcrest
White led the team with 13.5 points and 7.5 rebounds as the Hoosiers split a pair of games. He shot 54.5 percent from the field and averaged 30.0 minutes. In Indiana's win over Michigan, the Tuscaloosa, Ala., native poured in a game-high 15 points and seven rebounds with three straight blocks.
