Jan. 29-30, 1999 - Indiana's men's swimming and diving team defeated ninth-ranked Michigan 137-106 on Jan. 29 for its first win over the Wolverines since 1989. The Hoosiers follow that up with a 160.5-82.5 victory over Michigan State on Senior Day, Jan. 30, for their second win in 24 hours.
Jan. 30, 1937 - Head Coach Billy Thom led the IU wrestling team to a 20-6 dual-meet victory over the Chicago All-Stars. It was the 34th dual-meet victory in a row for Thom and the Hoosiers, the longest win streak in IU wrestling history. Thom posted a career record of 110-32-4 with eight Big Ten titles and one national championship over his 18 years at the helm of the Hoosiers.
Jan. 31, 1998 - In its first event as a varsity sport, the Indiana water polo squad went 2-0-1 at the Indiana Invitational, topping Northwestern (14-2) and Wisconsin (12-4) and tying Michigan (5-5). The Hoosiers would go on to finish 26-9-1 with a 13-3-1 mark in the Big Ten, and advanced to the national championships.
Feb. 1, 1971 - George McGinnis scored 45 points as the Hoosiers won a track meet with Northern Illinois, 113-112. McGinnis, who went 19-for-35 from the field, also grabbed 20 rebounds in the contest.
Feb. 1, 1991 - The Indiana women's basketball team scored in triple digits for just the second time in its 20-year history with a 103-86 victory over Wisconsin. Dawn Douglas scored 23 points for the Hoosiers while Zan Jeffries grabbed 12 rebounds.
Feb. 1, 2005 - Indiana head diving coach Jeff Huber and 2004 Olympian Cassandra Cardinell were selected to represent the Hoosiers on the USA Diving International Team at the 2005 China Open and the USA/FINA Grand Prix.
