BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana swimmer Todd Patrick has been named the IU Athlete of the Week for the week ending Jan. 7. The award is selected weekly by the IUHOOSIERS.com staff.
Patrick won each event he entered against Ohio State on Saturday, Jan. 6, leading the 15th-ranked Hoosiers to a 154-146 win over the 14th-ranked Buckeyes.
Patrick helped Indiana win the 200-yard medley relay in an NCAA "B" cut time of 1:28.60, then reeled off three individual wins. The Chesterfield, Mo., junior won the 200-yard freestyle in a season-best time of 1:38.52, then took the 100-yard freestyle in a McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion-record time of 45.01. Patrick capped his day with a win in the 200-yard individual medley, turning in a time of 1:50.19.
The Hoosiers evened their record at 3-3 overall and 1-1 in the Big Ten. All six of IU's opponents this season have been ranked in the top 25, including three in the top 10 and four in the top 15.
Indiana's Kim Roberson (women's basketball) and D.J. White (men's basketball) also had strong weeks for the Hoosiers.

White scored 11 points and pulled down eight rebounds against No. 6/6 Ohio State on Jan. 2 as the Buckeyes pulled out a 74-67 win. White followed that up by scoring a game-high 21 points to go with three rebounds in the Hoosiers' 73-51 rout of No. -/24 Michigan State on Jan. 7. For the week, White averaged 16 points and 5.5 rebounds per game and was a combined 11-for-26 (42.3 percent) from the field and 10-for-11 (90.9 percent) from the free throw line.
Kim Roberson

Roberson led all players with a career-high 28 points in IU's 71-64 win at Illinois on Jan. 7. Roberson went 11-of-17 from the floor, including four 3-pointers, and tallied six rebounds, four steals and three assists in the win. In the Hoosiers' 64-56 overtime loss to No. 18/19 Michigan State on Jan. 4, Roberson scored 13 points and added five steals in the effort. On the week, Roberson averaged 20.5 points, 4.5 steals, 3.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game, while shooting 55.2 percent from the field and 45.5 percent from beyond the arc.
