Jan. 8, 2000 - The Hoosiers set a men's basketball program record with 14 blocked shots en route to an 85-78 victory over Penn State in State College, Pa. The Hoosiers held a six-point advantage heading into the break and outscored the Nittany Lions by one, 43-42, in the second half of play to pull out the win. Jeff Newton had five of IU's 14 blocks in the win, while Kirk Haston, A.J. Guyton and Larry Richardson each tallied three. Haston also scored a career-high 28 points in the victory while pulling down 13 rebounds.
Jan. 11, 2004 - The Indiana wrestling squad went 2-1 at the Wendy's Duals, defeating VMI, 31-6, and knocking off No. 25 Pittsburgh, 19-13, before falling to Ohio, 25-15. Senior Coyte Cooper and sophomores Brady Richardson and Joe Dubuque went 3-0 on the day, while redshirt freshman Josh Buuck picked up a pair of victories in two matches in his first action of the season in the heavyweight division. In addition to the four undefeated wrestlers, juniors Pat DeGain and Andy Rios and sophomore Nate McMillin went 2-1 on the day.
Jan. 12, 2003 - The IU women's basketball team upset No. 23 Ohio State, 54-50, in Assembly Hall. It was the Hoosiers' only win over a ranked opponent that season. The Hoosiers were able to dictate the tempo of the game throughout and held the Buckeyes to just 39.2 percent shooting from the floor. Jenny DeMuth led all players with 21 points and pulled down seven rebounds in the win. She also scored the final four points of the game to give IU the victory.
Jan. 14, 1992 - Greg Graham and Damon Bailey scored 25 points each as the fifth-ranked Hoosiers posted an impressive shooting effort in a 91-83 victory over No. 4 Ohio State. Indiana shot 26-for-47 from the field (55.3 percent) and went 33-for-36 (92 percent) from the free throw line in the eight-point victory. Bailey put on a clinic from the charity stripe, going a perfect 14-for-14 from the line, where IU outscored the Buckeyes 33-8. He also tied for the team rebounding lead with Calbert Cheaney, as each grabbed six boards in the contest. Cheaney added 16 points for Indiana, while Eric Anderson added 11 of his own. Chris Reynolds added seven points and six assists in the contest as the Hoosiers moved to 3-0 in the Big Ten with the victory.
Jan. 14, 2006 - The Indiana men's and women's track and field teams combined for an impressive 16 first-place finishes at the Hoosier Classic at Gladstein Fieldhouse. The IU women notched seven top finishes, while the men recorded nine. Additionally, an astounding 20 Hoosiers nabbed personal best results at the season's second meet.
