Jenkins Named Big Ten Field Athlete of the Week

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Junior Kyle Jenkins and named Big Ten Track and Field Athletes of the Week, it was announced on Tuesday, Jan. 9, by the Big Ten.

Jenkins was victorious in the only event in which he competed last weekend at the Indiana Open. The junior recorded an NCAA provisional qualifying time with a leap of 15.51 meters in the triple jump. The accolade is Jenkins' first career weekly honor.

Indiana hosts the Indiana Open II, held Saturday, Jan. 13, in Gladstein Fieldhouse in its next meet. Events begin at noon.
