BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Following its third-place finish at the Olympia Fields/Fighting Illini Invitational, the Indiana men's golf team is ranked 15th nationally in Golfstat's first rankings of the 2007-08 season.
At Olympia Fields, Indiana finished ahead of defending national champion and No. 5 Stanford, No. 8 Duke, No. 9 Florida State, No. 12 Tennessee, No. 14 Arizona State and the additional three Big Ten teams in the field - Illinois, Purdue and Northwestern. The Hoosiers also improved to 8-7 against top-25 teams this season.
Junior Jorge Campillo earned the second runner-up and the fifth top-two finish of his career, closing one shot behind Oklahoma State's Rickie Fowler. He was the only golfer in the field to shoot in red numbers each of the three rounds, finishing with a career-best 203 (69-67-68) and picking up his second straight top five.
