BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The singles competition concluded Saturday on Day Two of the Hoosier Classic, and Indiana won three of the six singles flights. A trio of Juniors, Alba Berdala, Sigrid Fischer and Stephanie Heller, each won their respective flights. The Hoosiers also posted a 5-1 overall record in the day of doubles action.

Berdala captured the Flight A crown with a 7-6(2), 6-2 win over Georgia's Naoko Ueshima while Fischer cruised to a 6-0, 6-1 triumph over Noriko Saruta (Western Michigan) in the Flight C finals. Heller finished off the championship trifecta with a 6-3, 6-2 victory in the Flight F finals over Kelcie Klockenga from Iowa.
Senior Brianna Williams also reached the finals of her flight, but dropped a tight one, 6-7(5), 4-6 to Adrienne Elsberry (Georgia). Freshman Charlotte Martin won her third-place match versus Merel Beelan from Iowa, 6-4, 6-4.
All three Hoosier doubles teams in the bracket play won their first round match-ups, and the tandems of Maria Guerreiro/Charlotte Martin and Heller/Sopel competed in the round robin play. Berdala and Stuckey paired up for an 8-5 opening round win. Also competing in the flight were Erin Clark/Fischer and Williams/Kate Zapadalova combos.
The completion of doubles play will occur on Sunday.
