BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - First-year head coach Sherry Dunbar's Hoosiers are gearing up for the final push with just eight matches remaining in the regular season. The Hoosiers play at Ohio State on Friday night, then travel to Pennsylvania for a showdown with #1 Penn State on Saturday. At 14-10 overall, 5-7 in the conference and tied for fifth place in the Big Ten, IU is in the hunt for their first NCAA postseason berth since 2002. Every match is crucial at this point as there is a six-team crowd at 5-7 and two teams at 6-6. Therefore, this weekend could be the difference between occupying the third place slot or free-falling down to 10th place in the Big Ten standings.

LAST TIME OUT
A streak of five consecutive weeks in which IU split the series (one win, one loss) came to an end last weekend as the Hoosiers had a pair of setbacks against #7 Wisconsin and Illinois.
Indiana stormed back from an 0-2 deficit versus Wisconsin to force a game five. The Cream and Crimson earned two match-point opportunities as they took a 14-12 lead before the Badgers notched four straight points to escape with the 16-14 win.
TIME AND A HALF
The Hoosiers have been working overtime this season, playing in a league-high 90 games thus far. Indiana has played in 15 more games than Ohio State, who has played the least. Four individuals have seen the court in all 90 games, including Lauren Ditteon, Mara Hilgenberg, Juli Pierce and Erica Short.
DIG FOR THE CURE
Indiana participated in "Dig for the Cure" on Oct. 26, and raised just over $1,100 for the fight against breast cancer. All proceeds from t-shirt sales and pledged amounts that night went directly to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Wabash Valley Affiliate.
PIERCE IS FIERCE
Senior libero Juli Pierce has been a force in the defensive backcourt recently, digging 113 balls during the last six matches for a 4.71 digs per game average. Included in that span was a 25-dig performance in the win over Northwestern in which she became just the eighth player in IU history to record 1,000 career digs.
